Resource centre
The Resource Centre of the Alliance Française de Canberra provides a very wide range of French books and videotapes.
More than 8600 works can be borrowed. All the genres are represented! From literature to poetry, plays, biographies, autobiographies, philosophy, political sciences, economics, history, law, detective novels, art books, travel books.
The Resource Centre also provides a range of more than 450 dvds of both classic old French movies and recent films. You have a very large choice: action, comedy, adventure, drama, fantastic, thriller, cartoon film, documentary, history.
The Resource Centre also receives French newspapers and magazines: le Canard Enchainé, le Point, lExpress, Paris Match, Marie Claire, Modes et Travaux, le Courrier Australien, Terre de Vins, Le Journal des Enfants (JDE). All those magazines are on loan.
The Resource Centre proposes audiotapes and CDs of "retro" and recent French music : Edith Piaf, Jacques Brel, Julien Clerc, Francis Cabrel, Zebda, M, Manau...
The Resource Centre also has books for sale: books for children and some novels.
We also sell figurines, key rings and magnets of Tintin, Snowy, prices start at $7.00, We can also order Astérix & Obélix, Babar and the Smurfs.
From the 10th of January 2011, as a member of the Alliance Française, you will be able to reserve, renew and check our library catalogue, by visiting our Library.
You need to come and see us at the library in order to access your account.
You will be given your log in, your password will be “ kohakoha “ and you will be able to modify it at anytime.
