Student Enrolment
Enrolment of the Alliance is required in any course. Keep your Student card handy when you wish to borrow books, DVDs, or CDs, buy tickets for our cultural events at concessionary rates or enrol in a new class.
Fees & Payment
Enrolment will only be confirmed upon full payment before the first lesson of the session.
Contact the administration for any other specific payment arrangements. Please note that payment by credit card will incur a charge of 1.2%.
Withdrawal policy
Any student who has paid for a course and who withdraws at least 5 working days prior to the commencement of that course, will be entitled to a refund, less 20% processing fee. Applications for refund must be addressed in writing to the Director.
No refund or transfer can be made if a student cancels his/her enrolment less than 5 working days prior to the commencement of that course or once the term has started.
Please note that decision to transfer a student or defer the payment is left the discretion of the Alliance Francaise management.
No refund, transfer or credit will be given should a student fail to attend every class or leave before the end of the term. The Alliance Française de Canberra cannot be held responsible for students' changes in work commitments or personal circumstances.
Under exceptional circumstances such as serious illness, the Alliance Française de Canberra may consider the request of a student to transfer from one course to another or deferring his/her fees. A formal request must be submitted to the Director.
Cancellation
The Alliance Française reserves the right to divide, combine, or cancel a course before the start of the course.
Minimum class size is 7 students. The average size for each class is 7 to 15 students.
For a lesser number, tuition cost per hour could be readjusted. Otherwise any class may be cancelled by the Alliance Française.
In case of a cancellation, students may request a transfer to another class, a credit note, or a full refund of fees paid. Please note that credit notes are neither transferable, nor redeemable for cash. They are to be used within one year.
Public Holidays
Alliance Française will not hold classes on ACT public holidays. Classes will then be rescheduled to a suitable time in the session.
