This course will encourage you to speak in a friendly and positive environment.

You will learn how to:
● Greet someone
● Identify objects
● Use French pronunciation 
● Spell and use numbers
● Introduce yourself and someone else
● Give basic information about someone
● Talk about your eating habits
● Speak about your daily life and activities

This is the content for Week 1 to Week 5. The second part of the term will be designed according to students' needs and interests.

This class examines the fascinating history of French gastronomy including its cuisine, wine and cheese... We will look at how French gastronomy has evolved from the Middle Ages until now, the great chefs who have revolutionised world cuisine and the "terroir" (regional food). You will also learn how to create washed rind, soft and hard cheeses and the right way to drink a glass of wine...! A real French adventure to understand the foundations of the French spirit and culture.

À partir de documents déclencheurs tels que des émissions de télévision et de radio, des articles de journaux ou des dessins de presse, vous aurez l'occasion de renforcer votre niveau de français en échangeant autour de questions économiques, d’enjeux géopolitiques, de mesures de santé publique ou encore de la défense des droits humains.

Ce cours est accessible aux étudiants à partir du niveau B1.

Diplômée d'un Master 2 en Relations internationales et d’un Master 3 en Diplomatie de l'Université Nationale Australienne. Carole a développé son expertise dans ces domaines au sein de l'Ambassade de France, de l’ONU, du gouvernement et Parlement australiens, et divers d’organisations internationales, ONGs, et think tanks. Carole a également près de 20 ans d’enseignement du FLE, à des niveaux allant du A1 au C2.

Conversation: Classic French Literature (Advanced)

This course explores the history of 19th century French literary masterpieces and famous writers. We will learn and discuss the fascinating life and history of the most influential writers and their work analysing extracts of their works, videos, podcasts and articles to give you a chance to practice your skills.

Pace: 2 hours per week over 5 weeks

Conversation: Introduction to French Cinema (Advanced)

This course will take you on a journey through the evolution of modern cinema.We will begin with understanding how French cinema started with the Lumière brothers before looking at the 50's and the revolutionary movement of Nouvelle Vague. You will have the chance to practice your skills in French and your learning will be supplemented by the use of videos and articles about film and director icons of our time.
