This course is designed for participants who have some Intermediate/B1 notions in French.

In class, you will work on oral/written comprehension and discover how the language works using a variety of documents (videos, written and audio) and in context (in many everyday situations). The teacher will support your learning in carrying out a variety of activities. You will interact with other learners and the teacher. Grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation will be explained and are approached in an active way. The Cosmopolite B1 is the reference manual. It will be used in class and for supplementary activities. In addition, the teacher will provide supplementary resources to ensure a variety of materials are studied.

Intermediate+ Term 2: "What do you think about the news?": analysing the news; talking about (dis)information; using more time connectives; reporting past facts; learning more prepositional verbs; using emphasis, notably with the passive voice; understanding different language register (formal register, truncations).
Pace: 2 hours per week over 10 weeks

The teacher will support your learning in carrying out a variety of activities. You will interact with other learners and the teacher. Grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation will be explained and are approached in an active way.

Intermediate Term 2: "Let's move to a francophone country": expressing sentiments with the subjunctive; solving problems after expressing a complaint; using expressions of consequences; talking about health and healthcare; nuancing likes and dislikes; describing similitudes and differences.
