John is a Canberra architect and urban designer, whose study and extensive travel in Europe have resulted in a major collection of sketches, watercolours and oils, principally focussed on the architectural, urban and landscape history of France and northern Italy. His works encompass many of the iconic cities, towns and villages of France, particularly in the Paris, Provence, Cote d'Azur, Burgundy, Dordogne and Bordeaux regions. The works are mainly pictorial, which seek to capture the unique character, atmosphere and light of their location and setting. Most of the exhibition is of watercolours created over the last three years.
