The Uccellini Recorder Ensemble is a Canberra-based group formed in 2020. Affectionately known as “Uccellini”, which is Italian for little birds, the group enjoys playing a wide range of music from ancient through to modern. Not just recorders, Uccellini loves to incorporate percussion and collaborate with other musicians – harpsichord, strings and voice. What makes Uccellini special is the presentation of quality music by a group of great friends brought together by their shared joy of recorder playing.
Lose yourself in an immersive solo piano set by hard-core adventurer, cartwheeler, and music composer Madi Creecy.
She’ll guide you through a rich sonic journey, where therapeutic, improvised detours unfold in daring and dramatic ways. The energy is irreproducible. Madi’s melodies are inspired by the natural elements - the land around her that she is so often exploring; scaling mammoth mountains in the Australian Alps in the Ngarigo region, wandering through thick forests of funghi and moss after heavy rain, and submerging in transparent snowmelt rivers.
