About Andrew
Our baking teacher

Andrew gained an appreciation for ‘le monde du pain' when his family had the opportunity to live in France for a year. On returning to Australia, rather than revert to supermarket bread Andrew decided to teach himself how to bake baguettes and pain au levain (sourdough) in the French style.

Now retired from full-time employment he is studying the Certificate III in Baking, a three-year professional course at the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) taught by a French boulanger. Andrew is passionate about French breads, viennoiseries and pâtisseries.

He has been awarded for his sourdough bread at the Royal Canberra Show (2024) and the Baking Associations of Australia (NSW) Canberra Baking Show (2023).
