Preparation French Baccalauréat - Mathematics
We are pleased to announce the launch of a weekly preparation course for the French Baccalauréat Mathematics exam, designed for students in Première and Terminale.
The course is offered by the Alliance Française of Canberra and led by a qualified French-speaking teacher trained in the French National Education system.Classes will begin on Thursday, July 24, 2025 (start of Term 3) and will be held at the Wesley Centre in Forrest (ACT).📘 Course OverviewThe program is structured around three core objectives:🔹 1. Review of Key Curriculum TopicsThe course will cover the essential topics of the official French Baccalauréat syllabus, in a clear and progressive way:
- Functions: curve analysis, graphical interpretation, increasing/decreasing functions, extremums
- Derivatives: differentiation rules, using derivatives to study functions, optimization problems
- Probability: conditional probability, binomial and normal distributions, independent events
- Sequences: arithmetic and geometric sequences, limits, mathematical induction
- Statistics: mean, median, standard deviation, data interpretation
- Geometry and coordinates in the plane: vectors, lines, distances, angles
- Trigonometry (depending on level): unit circle, trigonometric functions, identities, solving equations, applications in geometry
- Data analysis and algorithms: tables, automated calculations, basic algorithmic logic (depending on level)
- Read and understand exam questions effectively
- Structure their problem-solving approach step-by-step
- Justify their answers clearly and rigorously
- Manage their time during the exam
- Practice exercises based on past exam papers
- Mock exams corrected in class with group feedback
- Exam simulations with tips for managing stress and staying focused
- Smart techniques for solving problems efficiently and avoiding common mistakes

French After-School Classes (Red Hill Primary School)
4-10 YEARS OLD
This programme provides an introduction to French and supports their language learning.
Learning objectives:
- The children will learn French words and expressions.
- The teacher organises various activities such as games, songs to encourage memorisation and art & craft.
- Participants discover French culture.
No pre-requisites required.
Delivered at the Red Hill Primary School. Your child must be enrolled at Red Hill Primary School. Pick up is at 4.20pm
sharp. The children will be brought to the area in front of the steps, next to the reception of the school. Please pick up your child on
time as their tutor has other commitments after this class.
