New Caledonia Short Film Festival
Each year, on the 24th of September, New Caledonia celebrates its « Citizenship Day », la Journée de la Citoyenneté. This
occasion is to honour New Caledonia’s special identity, diverse cultures and peoples. This year New Caledonia’s Citizenship Day will also
be marked in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji, with a Festival of short-films made by New Caledonian directors. It is our pleasure to
welcome you to the 1st edition of the Festival sponsored by the New Caledonian Delegation in Australia and held in Brisbane (at QAGOMA),
Canberra (Alliance française), Adelaide (Alliance française) and Perth (Alliance française).
On September 23rd at the Alliance Francaise de Canberra, come and celebrate the New Caledonia Short Film Festival! Watch
and enjoy 8 short-films from New Caledonia, screened for the very first time in Australia in French or kanak
indigenous languages, with English subtitle. This travelling festival will be presented in other Alliance Francaise around Australia,
and Canberra will participate in the vote to select their favorite film!
Taste some delicious French wine and New Caledonian inspired canapés after watching 8 short films from New Caledonia.
