International Francophonie Day is celebrated every year on 20 March to honour the French language and Francophone cultures. It marks the founding of the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF) in 1970, with events held worldwide to promote cultural diversity, solidarity and linguistic richness among its 93 member states and beyond.
To celebrate the occasion, the Alliance Française de Canberra will be hosting its annual Francophonie Market. This event is a great opportunity to celebrate Francophone cultures and countries from all around the world.
On the programme: food, drinks and activities from Belgium, Canada, France, Morocco, Switzerland and Uruguay!
At the entrance, you can pick up a Francophonie Market Passport and collect stamps from each stall for a chance to win a special prize!
Enjoy a lively programme featuring a raffle with exciting prizes, including French language courses at the Alliance Française, tickets to the Alliance Française French Film Festival, and other special gifts.
Guests can also take part in friendly pétanque games, enjoy live music, and discover a variety of entertainment throughout the event.
