All the members of the Alliance Française de Canberra are invited to attend its Annual General Meeting (AGM), which will be held on Wednesday 30^th April 2025 at 5:30pm, at the Alliance Française premises, 66 McCaughey Street, Turner 2612.

If you are unable to attend the AGM you may want to appoint a proxy. Members may only provide their proxy details using the proxy form provided in the above document (page 4). Completed proxy forms must be addressed to the Secretary and received by the Alliance Française office in Turner by 5:00pm Tuesday 29 April 2025.

What is an AGM?

An Annual General Meeting (AGM), or "Assemblée Générale Annuelle" in French, is a crucial event for organisations like the Alliance Française. During an AGM, members of the Alliance Française come together to discuss and decide on important matters related to the organisation's governance, activities, and future direction.

Why does the Alliance Française have an AGM?

In accordance with clauses 30 and 31 of the Constitution of the Alliance Française de Canberra Incorporated, the Committee is required to convene an AGM each year.

The AGM fosters transparency, accountability, and community engagement, ensuring that the Alliance Française continues to fulfill its mission of promoting French language and culture around the world.

Who can attend?

All the members of the Alliance Française de Canberra with a membership valid on the day of the AGM, or their appointed proxy.

What will happen during the AGM?

Among the topics discussed during the AGM, we will notably review our activities from 2024 and elect or renew committee members.
