Bastille Day, known in France as La Fête Nationale, is celebrated every year on 14 July. The date commemorates both the Storming of the Bastille in 1789, a key moment of the French Revolution, and the Fête de la Fédération held one year later in 1790, which celebrated national unity and the birth of a new France. Today, 14 July is a day of celebration across France, marked by parades, fireworks, music, and gatherings with family and friends.
In Canberra, we’re bringing the tradition to life in our own way (no fireworks, sorry!)
Join us on Saturday, 11 July, from 3pm to 5pm & enjoy a delicious waffle and a glass of mulled wine on arrival (included in the price of the ticket).
