For our next café musique, Friday September 19th at 7pm, we are very happy to receive young musicians from Canberra at the Alliance! Enjoy good music, good drinks and food, in a convivial atmosphere.

7.15 to 8pm: pianist and singer Marianne Scholem
8.15 to 9pm: Cathy Petrocz and Sam King, two of the four members of the band Burrows, with violinist and singer Emma Kelly.

$15 for AFC members, $20 for non members, bar open.

On the menu: quiche and salad.

About the musicians:
With stints at Art Not Apart and You Are Here as well as Smiths, Transit bar and The Front, local singer-songwriter Marianne Scholem has been delighting Canberra audiences since January 2013 with her piano-driven indie-folk ballads. With a musical style that veers towards Regina Spektor and Kate Miller-Heidke theatrics, Marianne combines wistful tales of honest lyrics with a folk-pop sensibility. One half of ex-brisbane folk band “The Dizzy Spells,” she is looking forward to launching her debut solo album in early 2015.
